CONTEST CLOSED:
Congratulations to Phil for his winning comment and xmas movie and beer pairing:
Die Hard paired with Maclean’s Pale Ale because Yippy Ki Ay Mother Fucker!
Call me a sentimental son of a bitch but a comment that references my favourite Christmas movie, names an Ontario craft beer, and drops an eff bomb seems to me like what the holidays are all about. Congrats, Phil! Enjoy the Craftmas Beer Experience.
This holiday season, the folks who have brought The Beer Experience to Berkeley Church for the last two years as part of Toronto Beer Week are getting into the festive spirit.
The innaugural, aptly (if awkwardly) named winter equivalent, Craftmas Beer Experience, promises much of the same elements that have made The Beer Experience a success the past couple of years–and Ben’s Beer Blog wants to send you and a friend to the event to check it out.
Happening at District 28 near Toronto’s Port Lands on Thursday December 4th, The Craftmas Beer Experiences promises unique and festive beers from Beau’s All Natural Brewing Co, Black Oak Brewing, Cameron’s, Creemore Springs, Great Lakes Brewery, Junction Craft Brewing, Kensington Brewing Company, Mill Street, and Wellington, among others. There will also be food provided by Matt Basile’s Lisa Marie Food Truck.
Tickets, which include five drink tokens, can be purchased in advance for $25 each, but for one lucky Ben’s Beer Blog reader Christmas is comin’ early, because we’re giving away two tickets! Ho, ho, effing ho.
In the spirit of the season, to enter, simply leave a comment here letting me know your favourite Christmas movie, the perfect beer to pair with it, and why.
On Monday December 1st, the contest closes and I’ll pick the best/most entertaining entry to receive two free tickets. Preference may or may not be given to people who spread word of this contest via twitter.

He-Man & She-Ra – A Christmas Special
Paired with Great Lakes Red Leaf
🙂
A Christmas Story. Red Ryder BB Gun = Red Racer IPA. Close enough.
Die Hard paired with Maclean’s Pale Ale because Yippy Ki Ay Mother Fucker!
Favourite Christmas movie is The Grinch with a Kissmeyer Nordic Pale Ale. I picture the Who’s in Whoville would love this to drink.
The Grinch who stole Christmas (cartoon version) with Double Trouble Vanilla Stout. No reason in particular, except that I like them both!
The Muppets Christmas Carol with a Mill St. Vanilla Porter because muppets like porters (duh).
The Santa Claus, with Black Oak Nutcracker Porter or Mill St. Vanilla Porter! Both beers are delicious and creamy, similar to the hot cocoa that Tim Allen gets at the North Pole!
Childhood favourite The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe paired with Granville Island’s Lion’s Winter Ale – because Lions are badass.
Scrooged (w/Bill F’ing Murray!) and a Bah Humbug Christmas Ale!
Ernest saves Christmas with a Bellwoods Brewery Blitzen. Love the estery flavours of belgian brews!!
A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas in 3D, because nothing says Happy Holidays like falling “snow”… Watch it with Winter Ale from Great Lakes Brewery.
The Muppet Christmas Carol paired with a Muskoka Vintage Winter Beard, because it’s from a Christmas past and the beard on the box looks just like the muppet ghost of Christmas present.
The Ghostbusters, Mill Street Vanilla Stout. Why you may ask? Because I like to cross streams…you know Stay Pufft/Vanilla…ahhh whatever.
die hard, mill street original organic, why- I say why not, great beer great movie
Bad Santa and Bah Humbug Christmas Ale. Both are a good dose of bah humbug for an overly cheery and annoying holiday.
Household fav to watch at Christmas is Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory- pairs great with Pump House Blueberry Ale #Violetbeauregarde
Gotta be Bad Santa with something trashy, like a 40 of Schlitz! Then wash that bad taste away with a Muskoka Winter Beard.
Favourite Christmas movie is White Christmas, and the best beer to pair it with is an aged bottle of Tempest by Amsterdam Brewery. Even though it’s older, it’s just so good you can’t help but come back for more year after year.
Tröegs Brewing Company’s “Mad Elf Ale” paired with “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”. Crazy beer for a crazy movie. Plus, the 11% ABV would help “take the edge off” for Chevy Chase’s rather unlucky character…
